VSL#3® is a patented mixture of live freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria. It contains eight different strains of bacteria carefully selected, cultivated in specific culture medium and then mixed in such proportions as to optimize the functionality and synergy of the product.
The eight strains in VSL#3® are:

VSL#3® sachets: 4.4 g sachets (10 sachets per box)
Each sachet of VSL#3® contains at least 450 billion live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria which help restore the bacterial flora of the gut.
Excipients: maltose and silicon dioxide

VSL#3® capsules: 540 mg capsules (10 capsules per box)
Each capsule of VSL#3® contains at least 112 billion live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria which help restore the bacterial flora of the gut.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide. Capsules made of Hydroxy-Propyl Methyl cellulose
